"This is what happens when Cerberus bites the hands of Hades." This album is the culmination of experiences from creative, David McCloud. As he approaches his thirties, David uses this project as a source of therapy to help explore his thoughts and identity as he's lived in America. David catalyzes the myth of Cerberus and Hades, depicting the black male as the three-headed hound and America as Hades (as both location and ruler). The album is arranged in a way that's representative of David's experiences with depressive mania, songs transitioning between moods in an instant. David discusses the difficulty of maneuvering safely in the world while being black and the discrimination that comes from white people who use black people as a buffer to be a "good person."
