There was a time when there was a lot of stigma attached to rastafarians. In fact, they were referred to as “black heart man” and generally shunned by society. But I'd say that has changed quite a lot over the years, and they're generally accepted as any other religion, although we still may face some discrimination and there are still some people who may view us with disdain, particularly because of some of our cultural practices, such as the smoking of ganja and wearing dreadlocks, which some still perceive as being untidy.
