Pretty Liyah was born and raised on the Southside of Chicago (Englewood, to be exact). She was inspired by her community. She saw many people start a rap career and have success with it, this drove Pretty Liyah to believe that she could do it as well. With a strong belief and from listening to random beats, Pretty Liyah started her rap journey. She would remix her favorite songs until the urge to write became an addiction. It had gotten to a point where she would rap over every beat or just start rapping aloud out of nowhere. This sensation for rap quickly became a new found love for the craft.
